ABOUT  BANGALORE  RURAL  DISTRICT

 

            Bangalore Rural District with Eight (8) taluks came into being on 15th  August 1986 with the division of Bangalore District into Bangalore Rural and bangalore (Urban).  Further, Bangalore Rural Distict is divided into two Districts, the new bangalore Rural district comprise Four (4) Blocks Viz, Devanahally, Doddaballapur, Hosakote, Nelamangala with effect from 15th  August 2007. The new district physically sorrounds the Chikkaballapura & Tumkur Districts in  North, the bangalore (Urban) District in South, Kolar & Chikkaballapura in East  and Tumkur & Ramanagara in West. The Headquarters of the New district is Bangalore itself. Bangalore Rural District is located in the South-Eastern  corner of Karnataka State, Spanning a Goographical area of 5,814 km, the district lies stretched between the latitudinal parallels of 12 15’N  and 13 35’N on the one hand and the longitudinal meridians of 77 05’E and 78E on the other.
